True Blood

Just when Mike and I are talking about cancelling our HBO subscription they go and start a new series that I am obsessed with! Did anyone else watch True Blood last week? It's about vampires & it's oh so good! (And not in a Twilight kind of way, I HATED Twilight).

It's about Vampires that are living publicly in the world now because Japan invented a synthetic blood drink that satifies their urge to drink blood. There is an American Vampire League and they want equal rights for the Vampires.

I would tell you what else happened but that would take too long, so just watch it for yourself. Or check this for a synopsis:

hbo.com/trueblood

I also can't wait for Big Love to start again. I jsut read online that it might not start until 2009 now because of the Writer's Strike. NO! At least I can watch True Blood until then.

What other TV shows do you guys watch? Since Lennon's birth we have been major TV junkies. Terrible, I know. We love the Hills, any Real World/Road Rules challenge, the Daily Show, Colbert Report, Bizarre Foods with Andrew Zimmern, Jon & Kate Plus 8 (Mike HATES this show, I can't quit watching it), Intervention (when I want to be depressed), and all the HBO shows: Big Love, Curb Your Enthusiasm, True Blood. OK, I have now named enough shows that I sound pathetic. Tell me what else we should be wasting our time with.
Note to self: READ MORE.

Ha, TB is a laughably fun tv show. Other than the "rough" stuff it is a pretty cool premise. Z

I only posted because YOU dared me to! ha ha. Now it will only take me forever to catch up (seriously!). Anyways, we totally should go to lunch!! I don't work. We can talk about the good old days (our obsession with JTT). Lennon is so, so cute! Let's get together soon... where do you live? Oh yea... about your post. I used to watch Big Love (now our free HBO has dissappeared :( and my guilty pleasure show is called Greek- it's on abc family. Don't laugh too hard, it's addicting, I swear. I can't stop watching Jon and Kate plus 8 too. Let's get together soon!!

Did you see episode 2? Is there a scene anywhere in the history of television that is better than the "mirror point"?

A coworked just gave me Twilight but I am not sure if I want to read it since the author went to BYU... I am reading a good book titled A Thousand Splendid Suns, it is by the same author of The Kite Runner. It is depressing book but really good at the same time...

Starr said...

That's stupid to not read it cause she went to BYU, it's actually a good school. I am not mormon at all, but that's lame to boycott something based off where they got their education. The reason I would not read it is that it's written for youth and you can totally tell. I could not handle that. I almost finished Kite Runner & I have heard that other book is great as well. I will have to check it out.

On the other hand boycotting things and people because they are republican or support John McCain is A OK! HAhahahHA!

Is it shallow of me to say that I don't want to be friends with you if you watch "The Hills?"

Starr said...

Cory or Chels, I am embarrassed to say but I can't remember the mirror scene?! Will I have to go back and rewatch it? Is it from the 2nd or 3rd episode? Tell me what it was, it's driving me crazy trying to remember it!

Starr said...

HAh! That show is great. I can't help but watch it. It's slightly less important than your political and moral stands on our country. I get it, you're a repub(e)! Let's still be friends it's fun to argue with you.

Wait a minute, wait a minute. I am SO not a republican!!! Just because I don't want to be taxed to hell doesn't make me a republican! I'm pro choice, I think we need better health care, and I really like Obama. I think I will be voting for him actually. I just have a self employed husband and I think we should get to keep what we make. What is the point of working 14 hours a day, trying to get a new business going and save up money to make a life for your family if the government is just going to take it all? So, my point is that I am not a republican, I am just so not a fan of socialism. I think its jacked.

Rewatch episode 2 and wait for the "mirror point" and laugh your ass off. Don't blink or you will miss it.

Starr said...

OH! That's what you were talking about! I can't quit laughing. I was more picturing Bill or another vampire in the mirror and some weird reflection.

Now THAT was hilarious!! Thanks for making me watch it again. Awesome!

If you aren't making more than 250k in a year you will pay LESS in taxes under Obama's plan. Democrats don't always equal more taxes for everybody.

Cory Bagozzi said...

Unfortunately this magic "$250k a year" number that gets thrown around only applies to salaries. If you own your own corporation Obama's plan raises your tax burden by slicing tax breaks and cuts that are currently in place, regardless of what your net income is a year. Obama also wants to raise taxes on capital gains and qualified dividends, another hit to most business owners and entrepreneurs, not just the "wealthy" ones.

Everyone just relax and think of the MIRROR POINT!!
